2024 Honda CR-V Trims: Choosing the Right Trim

Choosing the correct trim from the Honda CR-V range depends on your personal preferences. You must carefully consider the features you need and those you can't imagine driving without. 

Honda offers the flexibility to add exciting features to entry-level models at an additional cost, but it’s not possible to remove features from a higher-level trim to reduce its cost.

Trims Available

We have four trims available for 2024. At the entry-level is the LX-B (two-wheel drive) with an MSRP of $37,283*, then there is the LX-B (all-wheel drive) with an MSRP of $40,083*. Next in line is the Sport, with an MSRP of $44,233*, and at the top end is the EX-L, priced at $46,433*.

Performance

All the Honda CR-V trims come with the same drivetrain. They are fitted with a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder motor making 190 horsepower and 179 lb-ft torque. This is coupled to a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) that drives the front wheels only or all the wheels.

Fuel consumption for all models is 9.1 / 7.6 / 8.4 L/100 km (City/Highway/Combined)

This takes one important feature off the table, as there are no drivetrain options from which to choose. 

Drivetrain

This is the first important choice that you'll have to consider. The LX-B has either front-wheel or all-wheel drive, while the Sport and EX-L have all-wheel drive. Do you require the additional safety features of all-wheel drive, or is Honda's excellent front-wheel drive system sufficient for your needs?

All trims have a choice of three drive modes: normal, economy, or snow.

Exterior

The Honda CR-V is a compact crossover that has won accolades for build quality and good looks. The LX-B sits on 17" steel wheels, shod with all-terrain tires, while the Sport and EX-L have 18" aluminium-alloy wheels with the same type of tire.

All trims have remote engine start, and while the LX-B has Honda Sensing Technology, functions such as blind spot assistance and rear cross-traffic sensing aren’t included. These technologies are included in the Sport and EX-L trims. The EX-L is the only trim with front and rear parking sensors.

The LX-B comes in silver, black or white, while the Sport has a wider range of colours, including black, white, gray, red, and blue. The EX-L comes in a restricted range of elegant colours with gray, black, blue, and white options available. 

The Sport and EX-L trims have a power-driven moonroof with a tilt feature, but this isn’t a feature of the LX-B.

Technology

Infotainment in the LX-B is displayed on a 7-inch touchscreen with four speakers. The Sport has the same screen but comes with six speakers, while the EX-L has a 9-inch screen with eight speakers. All models have wired Android Auto and Apple Carplay, but the EX-L also has Sirius HD radio and wireless smartphone connectivity.

All models have USB charging ports, but only the EX-L offers wireless smartphone charging.

Interior

The CR-V seats five passengers, with four adults comfortably accommodated. The LX-B and Sport have cloth-trimmed heated front seats, while the EX-L has perforated leather seats, with both front and rear seats heated.

The Sport and EX-L have heated leather-wrapped steering wheels and leather-wrapped great shift knobs.
